Aequo successfully acted before the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court for Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine

Aequo successfully acted before the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court for Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, the company operating the national pipelines ensuring natural gas transmission to Ukrainian and EU customers. 

The dispute arose out of different interpretation of the provisions of the Gas Transmission System Code on gas pricing. The Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court ruled in favour of GTS Operator and found that the final payment for any daily gas imbalance in relations between the Operator and gas traders shall be calculated on the basis of actual costs incurred by the Operator for gas purchase. 

The result Aequo’s attorneys achieved in this case is essential for the GTS Operator’s financial stability and decisive for a multi-million series of similar disputes in the total amount of several hundred million Hryvnias.
